The course aims to provide the foundational knowledge for the correct planning, execution, and analysis of research in the biomedical field. By the end of the course, students will be able to independently draft a research protocol in the biomedical field and adjust their actions based on evidence derived from the proposed experimental situations.
Topics: How to ensure the validity of preclinical, clinical, and observational experimental research: fundamental principles. Definition of bias, the role of bias, and controlling bias. Key elements of the research protocol from preclinical experiments on animal models to clinical trials on humans, as well as observational research: essential points and how to draft the protocol, including how to estimate the sample size.
