Admission to the PhD Program is based on qualifications and an oral exam.

Candidates can take the oral exam via videoconferencing by selecting the appropriate option when completing the online application form available at the following link: http://studentionline.unipv.it/esse3/Home.do. Candidates applying for thematic scholarships must register by selecting the relevant category.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the English language during the oral exam.
QUALIFICATIONS: 10 points are allocated for the evaluation of qualifications, distributed as follows:
a) Arithmetic mean, to be reported in the self-certification by the applicant, of the grades achieved in the exams taken during the Bachelor's degree and the Master's/Specialist degree program, or during the degree program prior to Ministerial Decree 509/1999 (old system), or during an academic program completed abroad: up to 2 points;
b) Scientific publications: up to 2 points;
c) Curriculum vitae: specifically, relevant research, educational, or professional experiences will be considered (internships, research grants, scholarships, relevant work experience, attendance of master's programs, attendance of specialization schools), in addition to the topic of the Master's thesis (or equivalent): up to 6 points.
Qualifications must be submitted in accordance with the procedures outlined in Article 5, paragraph 2, of this call for applications.
The minimum threshold to access the oral exam is 6/10 points.
Candidates will be able to view the results of the qualifications evaluation by logging in to their Reserved Area using username and password provided during the application registration process.
The interview will focus on the applicant’s motivation to undertake a research path and on their knowledge of research methodology in the field of public health. During the oral examination, the Committee may also ask specific questions aimed at assessing the candidates’ problem-solving skills. Candidates will be required to specify the thematic area for which they intend to apply.
The Selection Committee will inform candidates who have requested it of the date and time for the videoconferencing exam. Before the interview, candidates will be required to present a valid ID. The University of Pavia is not responsible for any failure to conduct the exam due to technical issues of any kind.
